Material Requirements Planning (MRP) evaluates supply and demand, managing inventory levels by planning orders for specific quantities and dates. Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) evaluates supply and demand through use of forecasts and Master Production Schedule.
MRP will evaluate part shortages using part lead time, safety stocks, minimum order quantity, multiples and order policy plan orders to meet any demand whether dependent or independent demand. MRP can plan in a Single Site, Single Entity or a Multisite, Multi Entity environment.
