Workshop Topic:
Material Requirements Planning (MRP) evaluates supply and demand, managing inventory levels by planning orders for specific quantities and dates. Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) evaluates supply and demand through use of forecasts and Master Production Schedule.

Why Use:
MRP will evaluate part shortages using part lead time, safety stocks, minimum order quantity, multiples and order policy plan orders to meet any demand whether dependent or independent demand. MRP can plan in a Single Site, Single Entity or a Multisite, Multi Entity environment.

Workshop Description (2 hours):
During this session, the attendees will learn the concepts of how part maintenance parameters, warehouses, inventory statuses and engineering masters impact MRP. Advanced Planning basics on the planning calendar, demand fences, how to view the Advanced Planning window information. Setup and execution of MRP to generate planned orders.

Supply Chain, Production Planning and Inventory staff will benefit from this training.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this workshop attendees should be able to set up part parameters, MRP setup, setup and understand the planning calendar and how to view the Advanced Planning information and ability to identify planned orders.

Workshop Prerequisite:
This is a hands-on workshop. Attendees should have working knowledge of the VISUAL ERP system. Attendees must also have security rights and access to a recent copy of a restored test database.
